Visit to an orphanage

On the morning of April 16, we were able to go visit an orphanage for 2-8 year olds. I was able to take a few pictures before I found out it was against the rules. They just wanted to be hugged and loved. We were told that the parents use the orphanage to take care of the kids, but they refuse to give up their parental rights, so the kids can't every be adopted. One of the little boys asked one of our APs if he would be his daddy. We wanted to take all the kids home and take care of them.

About this blog...

As most of you know, Charles and Carol Jewell are on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They received their call in August of 2007 to serve in the Bulgaria Sofia Mission. They set off on their journey from home in San Antonio, TX to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, UT before Christmas of 2007 stopping to visit Heather (Midland, TX), Chuck (Amarillo, TX) and Kathi (Broomfield, CO) on the way. Charles and Carol arrived at the MTC on January 7, 2008 and were there training for 11 days before traveling on to Sofia, Bulgaria. This blog is so that all of you can see how they are doing! Hope you enjoy the updates...
