Our last trip with the senior missionaries

On Thursday (June 25), we took our final outing with the senior missionaries. We went to a huge field of beautiful sunflowers near the city of Plovdiv.

Yes, he IS a blooming idiot.
Aren't they cute???
After the sunflowers, we drove about 45 more minutes to a Thracian Tomb near the city of Plovdiv. Here are the female counterparts of the senior couples (left to right: Jewell, Jorgensen, Bennett, Mace, Andersen).

Here's the group (left to right: Mace, Jorgensen, Bennett, Andersen, Jewell)

Oops, almost left this one out. This is the group at the sunflowers (Mace, Jorgensen, Bennett, Jewell, Andersen)

After visiting the tomb, we met this retired agricultural engineer and his partner

And Charles took ample advantage of the photo-op. These are HIS captions. Crude, possibly. Funny, definitely.

That night we went to the Chargata Restaurant (walking distance from the mission home). Around the table, starting at the left: Jorgensens, Sister Shavala (a former missionary from Estonia), Bennetts, Galia and Monika (members), Jewells, Andersens, Maces

About this blog...

As most of you know, Charles and Carol Jewell are on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They received their call in August of 2007 to serve in the Bulgaria Sofia Mission. They set off on their journey from home in San Antonio, TX to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, UT before Christmas of 2007 stopping to visit Heather (Midland, TX), Chuck (Amarillo, TX) and Kathi (Broomfield, CO) on the way. Charles and Carol arrived at the MTC on January 7, 2008 and were there training for 11 days before traveling on to Sofia, Bulgaria. This blog is so that all of you can see how they are doing! Hope you enjoy the updates...
